Two years ago, after a fulfilling career in talent and organizational development and human resources management, Sandra Abbey decided to create and start living her dream life filled with passion, purpose, and meaning. She is now the founder, President, and CEO of Leader Discovery with the mission to transform managers into leaders. Leader Discovery helps supervisors and managers at small to mid-sized organizations become self-aware of their own leadership capacity so they can develop better relationships, create effective systems, inspire greatness, and achieve bottom-line results.
Sandra has more than 20 years’ experience in human resources and talent development at the manager, director, and executive levels in a wide variety of for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Prior to heading up Leader Discovery, she spent five years with the Tucson Airport Authority as Chief Strategy Officer focusing on strategic planning, workforce and succession planning, and talent management.
Sandra earned her master’s degree in management from Troy University. She serves on the Pima County Arizona Workforce Investment Board and the Pima County Self-Insurance Trust Fund Advisory Board, is a board member for the Society of Human Resources Management of Greater Tucson, CFO for the Tucson Chapter of Association for Talent Development (ATD formerly ASTD), and holds the SPHR credential from the Human Resources Certification Institute, and SHRM-SCP credential from the Society of Human Resources Management.
